Shashemene, Adama slow down Coffee men
Ethiopia Coffee and Sidama Coffee came boiling hot into their Week 10 Ethiopia Premier League fixtures against Shashemene City and Adama City, but both were held to draws on Tuesday.
These results didn't impact the table much in terms of movement, but Shashemene City and Adama City will be both delighted to avoid defeats at the Adama Science and Technology University Stadium.
Adama City and Sidama Coffee played out a goalless stalemate, while Shashemene City held Ethiopia Coffee to a 1-1 draw, thereby preventing them from recording three consecutive wins
Shashemene City stunned Ethiopia Coffee in the first half when they scored in the 21st minute through Abdulkadir Nasir to go up 1-0.
They took the lead into the break and held onto their advantage through all the second half until regulation time.
However, in the 90+5 minutes of added time, Ramkel Jemes equalised for Ethiopia Coffee to earn them a 1-1 draw.
The result leaves Ethiopia Coffee tied on points with Fasil Kenema in fifth place, while they remain in the sixth spot.
Shashemene City, with another valuable point, increased their haul to four points but are still in relegation trouble in 15th place, four points behind Wolkite City and Dire Dawa on eight points and Hawassa City and Ethiopian Insurance on nine points each.
