Sebeta City top Wolkite in close contest
Hadiya Hossana needed a stoppage-time winner from Kalusha Alhassan to beat a resurgent Jimma Aba Jifar 1-0 in the Betking Ethiopia Premier League clash at the Bahir Dar Stadium on Wednesday.
The first half was dominated by Hadiya with their rampaging right back Dula Mulato driving back and forth down the right wing and combining superbly with Alhassan and Dawa Hotesa.
The first chance of the game was created by Bismark Appiah who turned with his back to goal to produce a searing shot that was parried for a corner by the goalkeeper.
Dula Mulatu's cross from the right caused all sorts of problems for Jimma, but his effort hit the post.
Jimma finally came alive on the stroke of halftime with a shot by Temesgen Derese, which was the closest they came in the first half.
In the 49th minute, Sadik Sancho beat the keeper but failed to convert for Jimma and with a gaping net at his mercy, Alhassan could only head over the bar on the other end of the pitch.
Hadiya, who have been right among the league contenders all season, pressed for a late winner with Dawa Hotessa hitting the side netting, but Kalusha Alhassan wouldn't be denied as he conjured a late winner in added time.
