Fasil Kenema are Ethiopia Premier League champions

Fasil Kenema have been crowned Betking Ethiopia Premier League champions on Thursday afternoon without kicking a ball after Ethiopia Coffee failed to beat Wolaitta Dicha at the Hawassa Stadium.

The result means Coffee can no longer catch up with Fasil who are on 49 points from 20 matches while Coffee are on 35 points from the same amount of games with four more to go.

Wolaitta Dicha have become kryptonite to the old guard after beating St George last week and they were determined to play the spoiler in this game. Ethiopia Coffee will now have to be content with fighting for second place and there are many takers on standby.

Fasil Kenema will take on Wolkite Ketema on Saturday knowing that they have already claimed the spoils.

Fasil have had a phenomenal season, winning 15 games to post a 75 per cent win ratio. They have drawn four games and only lost one. They have scored 35 goals and conceded 13 with a massive 22 goals difference so they have been comfortably in the lead for most of the season.

Coach Seyoum Kebede, the former Ethiopia national team coach, has led a great team inspired by the goals of star striker Mujib Kassim who will now attempt to try and win the top scorer's prize.

They will represent Ethiopia in the Caf Champions League 2021/22 season.
