Leaders ZESCO United will seek to get back to winning ways when they host NAPSA Stars in the MTN Super League on Sunday, with just two points separating the top five teams at the halfway point of the campaign.

ZESCO sit at the summit despite just two wins in their previous nine matches (D6 L1) and they will be desperate to turn those stalemates into victories in the second half of the season.

The latest draw came as they were held 1-1 by Atletico Lusaka in midweek and now come up against a Stars side with one win in their last nine games (D5 L3).

ZESCO have won the previous four meetings between the sides without conceding a goal.

Second-placed Kabwe Warriors host Green Eagles on Saturday as they too were held in midweek. In fact, only three of the 18 topflight teams won in the 17th round.

Warriors won five games in a row to shoot up the table, but are winless in three since then (D2 L1), while Eagles have drawn their last four, and are unbeaten in nine (W4 D5).

They sit in sixth, four points behind leaders ZESCO.

Eagles have had the better of their hosts away from home of late, with six wins and four defeats in their last 11 league visits.

Third-placed Nkana FC saw their three-game winning run brought to an end with a draw at Warriors in midweek, and will hope to get back to winning ways at Lumwana Radiants on Sunday.

However, after losing five games on the trot, Radiants have taken 10 points from the next 12 available and are bang in form. Despite this they still sit second bottom in the table, but are now only three points from safety.

Fourth-placed Power Dynamos have taken just a single point from the last nine available as they host Mufulira Wanderers, who are unbeaten in seven (W3 D4). Dynamos have won the last four meetings.

Defending champions Red Arrows are in fifth and go to Green Buffaloes on Sunday. The latter have not had a home league win against Arrows since 2016.

In other matches this weekend, Atletico Lusaka host Forest Rangers, Mutondo Stars welcome Nkwazi, bottom side Indeni go to Zanaco and FC MUZA host Nchanga Rangers.
