In what is building up to be one of the most keenly anticipated CAF Champions League ties this week, Pyramids FC will host AS FAR in a crucial first leg quarterfinal clash at the the 30 June Stadium on Tuesday night.

CURRENT FORM

Pyramids' form sheet has been up and down during the month of March, and they have recorded three wins and three draws in their last six matches across the board.

However, AS FAR will be alarmed to know that Pyramids are currently on a 23-match unbeaten streak in all competitions and last tasted defeat on the 14th of December 2024, where they suffered a 2-0 loss against ES Tunis in the CAF Champions League.

While Pyramids are fresh off a 4-0 win against National Bank in the Egypt Cup semifinals last Friday, AS FAR recorded a 2-1 win against MAS Fes in the Moroccan Throne Cup Round of 32 this past Thursday.

Overall, the Moroccan outfit are on a three-match winning streak, while bagging two draws in their last five matches in all competitions.

TEAM NEWS

Both Pyramids and FAR RABAT have no real injury concerns heading into their upcoming CAF assignment and are expected to name full strength squads on Tuesday night.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Pyramids: Fiston Mayele – After getting his name on the scoresheet in Pyramids’ win over National Bank in the Egypt Cup on Friday, Mayele will no doubt be eager to add to his Champions League tally this week. Also, the Congolese forward has been a star turner for Pyramids in the Champions League this season, with four goals to his name after seven matches played.

AS FAR: Youssef El Fahli – The Moroccan winger has 10 goals to his name in 31 games played so far and has been one of AS FAR’s best players in the last couple of weeks. While he is yet to score in the CAF Champions League, the 27-year-old could well carry his fine form into the popular continental competition this week.
