Who said what at the US Open on Thursday, the 11th day of the 2024 tournament at Flushing Meadows:

"I thought I was lucky to still be in it. She made me look like a beginner, she was destroying me and I was about to burst into tears, but it all came down to small moments."

  • Jessica Pegula on her comeback to defeat Karolina Muchova in a three-set semi-final.

"I felt like it kind of changed and she picked it up, and she started to play really solid. I missed again a few points, but then, it kind of turned around. It was tough to make points then against her. She was everywhere."

  • Muchova on missing an easy volley which would have given her a double break in the second set.

"They were loud, but during the point they were respectful and chill. Last year they were just super loud, even during the point. It was that loud, so it was blocking my ears, so that was, like, so much pressure."

  • Aryna Sabalenka on her feelings about the Arthur Ashe Stadium crowd for her semi-final win over home player Emma Navarro compared to last year when she lost the final to another American, Coco Gauff.

"I was kind of joking a little bit with my team, but a little bit serious, as well, that I was looking to win one match at the US Open, and now to be leaving having made a run and gotten to the semi-finals, and now I'm a top-10 player. It's pretty crazy."

  • Emma Navarro after her semi-final loss to Aryna Sabalenka having lost in the first round on her previous two appearances at the tournament.

"We're fire. It is what it is. We brought the people out."

  • Taylor Townsend on teaming up with Donald Young and reaching the mixed doubles final, where they lost to Italy's Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori.
