Borussia Dortmund cruised through their first-round German Cup tie, beating fourth-division Lubeck 4-1 on Saturday.

New signing Waldemar Anton opened the scoring on his Dortmund debut, with captain Emre Can adding a penalty and Julian Brandt scoring late in the first half.

Lubeck pulled a goal back through Obinna Iloka before teenager Julien Duranville added a fourth, his first strike in Dortmund colours.

Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel was replaced at halftime with a back complaint, putting him in doubt for next week's Bundesliga opener against Eintracht Frankfurt

Leipzig came back after conceding in the second minute to win 4-1 at third-division Essen.

Leipzig, who have won two of the past three German Cups, triumphed thanks to goals from Benjamin Sesko, Lois Openda, Antonio Nusa and Xavi Simons.

Last year's finalists Kaiserslautern beat Ingolstadt 2-1, while first-division sides Borussia Moenchengladbach, Freiburg, Holstein Kiel, Union Berlin and Heidenheim also won their first-round ties.

On Friday, 20-time winners Bayern Munich progressed with a 4-0 win over Ulm in their first competitive match under new coach Vincent Kompany, with Thomas Mueller scoring a brace and Harry Kane getting his first German Cup goal.

Later on Saturday, Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen host Stuttgart in the German Supercup.

The match, which puts the Bundesliga champions up against the Cup winners or league runners-up, is the first not to feature either Bayern Munich or Dortmund since 1993.
