The start of the second one-day international between Sri Lanka and the West Indies was delayed on Wednesday because of rain with the entire ground in Pallekele under covers.

Sri Lanka lead the three-match series 1-0 after winning the rain-affected first game, also in Pallekele, by five wickets.

The third and final game of the series is on Saturday at the same venue.

The home team won the T20 series 2-1 for their first series victory over the West Indies in the shortest format.
