The 37th annual SummerSlam is slated for Sunday, August 4, 2024. Dubbed "The Biggest Party of the Summer," it is one of the promotion's five biggest events of the year, along with WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, Survivor Series, and Money in the Bank, collectively known as the "Big Five". It is regarded as WWE's second most important event of the year, behind WrestleMania.

UNDISPUTED WWE CHAMPION CODY RHODES vs. SOLO SIKOA

Solo Sikoa is out to return the Undisputed WWE Championship to The Bloodline when "The New Tribal Chief" challenges Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam.

When Roman Reigns took leave after losing the Undisputed WWE Title to The American Nightmare at WrestleMania, Sikoa took the mantle of Tribal Chief and made significant changes to the deadly faction. After ruthlessly brutalising his brother Jimmy Uso and adding the destructive Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa – sons of the legendary Haku – Sikoa then secured a new enforcer in the form of the ultra-destructive Jacob Fatu.

Solo has made it clear that he is coming for the title, and when he pinned Rhodes in a Six-Man Tag Team Match at WWE Money in the Bank, that showdown seemed inevitable. Rhodes agreed and proposed the matchup himself in a face-to-face with Solo.

Is the Undisputed WWE Championship destined to return to The Bloodline?

WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION DAMIAN PRIEST vs. GUNTHER

2024 King of the Ring Winner Gunther will challenge World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest at SummerSlam.

The Ring General’s opponent was in question from the moment Gunther won the King of the Ring Tournament, as Priest has defended his title against the likes of Drew McIntyre and Seth “Freakin” Rollins and even survived a Money in the Bank cash-in from The Scottish Warrior. Priest nevertheless defeated his challengers and now puts his title on the line against Gunther in a first-time match.

As Intercontinental Champion, Gunther enjoyed a record 666-day reign that finally ended when he was defeated by Sami Zayn at WrestleMania XL. Since his loss to Zayn, Gunther has steamrolled his competition, even defeating Randy Orton in the King of the Ring Final.

Priest has endured an impressive reign since cashing in his Money in the Bank contract on McIntyre at WrestleMania XL and defeating him for the title before retaining against Jey Uso, McIntyre and Rollins. The Archery of Infamy’s grip on the top has been tenuous, however, as The Judgment Day have recently experienced turmoil, highlighted by Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan’s infatuation with “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio.

Will Priest slay another dragon, or will Gunther become the next World Heavyweight Champion?

CM PUNK vs. DREW MCINTYRE (WITH SETH "FREAKIN" ROLLINS AS SPECIAL GUEST REFEREE)

At SummerSlam, CM Punk will finally go one-on-one with Drew McIntyre with Seth “Freakin” Rollins stepping in as Special Guest Referee.

When Punk returned to WWE, neither McIntyre nor Rollins were happy about it. And when Punk got injured in the 2024 Royal Rumble Match, McIntyre stated that he prayed for it to happen and mercilessly mocked The Second City Saint for being out of action. His actions, however, would have consequences. At WrestleMania XL, Punk was at ringside as a guest commentator for McIntyre’s World Heavyweight Championship Match against Rollins. After Drew won the title, a post-match confrontation between him and Punk helped limit McIntyre’s reign to mere minutes as it directly paved the way for Damian Priest to cash in his Money in the Bank contract and defeat McIntyre to become the new World Heavyweight Champion.

Punk struck again when he cost McIntyre a title opportunity the following Monday night in a No. 1 Contender’s Match on Raw and also interfered in McIntyre's World Heavyweight Title Match against Priest at WWE Clash at the Castle.

An irate McIntyre fired back by pretending to quit WWE, then unleashing a brutal beatdown of Punk on SmackDown, stealing a bracelet that represented Punk’s love for his wife and dog in the process. McIntyre won the Money in the Bank Ladder Match and inserted himself into the World Heavyweight Title Match between Priest and Rollins on the same night, only to have Punk cost him the match one more time. Rollins was furious with Punk in the aftermath, believing that Punk's animosity toward McIntyre cost him a chance to win the championship.

With Punk finally medically cleared, who will emerge victorious in the highly anticipated match between The Second City Saint and The Scottish Warrior, with The Visionary stepping in as Special Guest Referee?

WOMEN's WORLD CHAMPION LIVE MORGAN vs. RHEA RIPLEY

At SummerSlam, Rhea Ripley looks to begin her own revenge tour against Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan. After The Nightmare injured Morgan and put her out of action for nearly a year, Morgan came back in a big way in 2024, embarking on her “Liv Morgan Revenge Tour.” Her first stop was injuring Ripley and forcing Mami to relinquish her Women’s World Title.

With Ripley out of the picture, Morgan defeated Becky Lynch to win the Women’s World Title before turning her attention to “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio and the rest of The Judgment Day. Morgan’s influences allowed Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh to become World Tag Team Champions, and she slowly corrupted Mysterio by putting him in comprising positions and kissing him on several occasions.

On the 8 July episode of Raw, Mysterio and Morgan were once again seen in a compromising spot before both were shocked at the arrival of Ripley. With The Nightmare back, her gaze is solely focused on regaining the title she never lost.

Can Ripley take back the Women’s World Title from Morgan? And how much a factor will “Dirty” Dom play in the match?

WWE WOMEN'S CHAMPION BAYLEY vs. NIA JAX

Bayley will defend the WWE Women’s Championship against 2024 Queen of the Ring winner Nia Jax. Since dethroning IYO SKY at WrestleMania XL, Bayley has enjoyed a successful run as champion, most recently retaining her title against Piper Niven at WWE Clash at the Castle: Scotland.

Jax dominated the 2024 Queen of the Ring Tournament, punctuating it with a win over Lyra Valkyria in the Finals and securing a championship opportunity at SummerSlam. Both Superstars are now set for battle, but Ms. Money in the Bank Tiffany Stratton is looming after implying that the WWE Women’s Title is the one she’s eyeing.

Can Bayley overcome arguably her greatest challenge against the dangerous Jax?

UNITED STATES CHAMPION LOGAN PAUL vs LA KNIGHT

At SummerSlam, LA Knight will challenge Logan Paul for the United States Championship. Yeah!

Knight has been a thorn in the side of Paul for some time, even going to the titleholder's house to throw a one-man pool party. As animosity increased during several encounters on SmackDown, Knight pinned the U.S. Champion during a Money in the Bank Triple Threat Qualifying Match after getting an assist from New York Knicks star player Jalen Brunson, resulting in a title fight being scheduled for SummerSlam.

Who will walk out of The Biggest Event of the Summer with the star-spangled championship?

INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION SAMI ZAYN vs. BRON BREAKKER

The Intercontinental Title will be on the line when Sami Zayn defends his championship against the dangerous Bron Breakker.

Since dethroning Gunther at WrestleMania XL, Zayn has not seen a more dangerous opponent than Breakker, who has terrorized Monday Night Raw since being drafted. Zayn conquered Breakker at WWE Money in the Bank in Toronto, but The Badass didn’t relent in his attacks and has Speared the champion at every turn, compelling Zayn to once again put his title on the line.

Can Zayn prove that he’s the better Superstar, or will Breakker capture his first gold since joining the main roster?
