ZESCO United back to winning ways in MTN Super League
Leaders ZESCO United have returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Nkwazi in the MTN Super League on Saturday.
Goals in either half from Abraham Siankombo and Lazarous Kambole completed what was a routine victory in the end as ZESCO maintained their one point advantage at the top of the table.
Keeping the heat on them in second-placed Red Arrows, who completed a win by the same scoreline against mid-table Forest Rangers.
The game was goalless until just before the hour-mark when Ricky Banda scored the opener and Edwards Mwenya got a second for a comfortable win in the end.
Nkana FC remain in relegation trouble after they lost 2-0 at home to Green Eagles. Derrick Bulaya scored both goals for the visitors to leave Nkana three points from safety, though they have now played a game more than NAPSA Stars in 14th.
FC MUZA picked up a rare recent win as they claimed a 1-0 success at Mutondo Stars. Chipo Sondashi scored the only goal of the game on the stroke of halftime.
Green Buffaloes and Prison Leopards played to a 1-1 draw. Struggling Leopards took the lead through Junior Zulu, but Buffaloes rescued a point with two minutes remaining when Lucky Bwalya netted for the hosts.
Mufulira Wanderers secured a 3-2 win at Kabwe Warriors as they raced into a 3-0 lead after half an hour. But a pair of goals from Ocean Mushure brought Warriors back into it, but they could not find an equalizer.
