The original Soweto derby between Orlando Pirates and Swallows headline this weekend’s DStv Diski Challenge festival at Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto.

The Diski Challenge festival will return to the historic Kasi this weekend with four fixtures to be played between Saturday and Sunday from 10am until the afternoon.

On the first day, Saturday, Sekhukhune United will battle it out with Mamelodi Sundowns in the opening fixture.

The second match of the day will be between Marumo Gallants and Kaizer Chiefs who are yet to win a match since the season started.

Amakhosi have lost twice and drew once in three matches. They have been a shadow of what they were in July when they clinched the DStv Diski Shield Cup competition beating Stellenbosch FC 2-0 in the final at Mpumalanga Stadium in KwaZulu-Natal.

With them facing unpredictable Gallants it remains to be seen if they will be able to get the first three points of the season.

On Sunday, last season's runners-up SuperSport United will start the day with a match against TS Galaxy who are yet to win a match in their last five matches.

Kick-0ff for that match is at 10am CAT (SA, GMT+2).

Galaxy have lost all their past five games leading to this one. However, that is not a big deal to their coach Ashley Makhanya.

Makhanya told the website that he has seen a lot of progress from his youngsters in terms of play.

Makhanya is optimistic that once they get the process right, the final product, which is winning games and consistency, will come.

The Soweto derby between Pirates and Swallows will be the last match of the day at noon.

Pirates will be looking at getting back to winning ways as they failed to get maximum points in their last two games where they drew once and lost 2-0 to Cape Town City last weekend.

The Dube Birds would also be hoping to get their second win of the season as well. Pirates coach Joseph Makhanya has stressed the importance of converting their chances.

In their last two games, Pirates did not score a goal as they drew 0-0 with Stellenbosch before losing 2-0 to City.

Heading to this clash Pirates have an upper hand as they won two out of three matches that they have played against Swallows in the past two seasons.
