Italian gymnast Ferrari to miss Olympics with injury
Italy's Vanessa Ferrari, the Olympic silver medallist on floor in Tokyo, has pulled out of the Paris Games on Thursday with a calf injury.
"My journey to Paris ends here. Yesterday (Wednesday) during a test for the Italian Championships next week, my calf gave way during the take off for a jump," she wrote on her Instagram account.
"As there is only a month left before the Games, I will not have time to recover from this muscle injury."
