The BetKing Ethiopia Premier League title race takes centre stage with rivals in action as Bahir Dar City face Hadiya Hosaena and Saint George play against Wolaitta Dicha.

Both week 25 matchday two fixtures will be held on Sunday at Hawassa University Stadium.

It has been a three-horse race for most of the season but with six games to go, the race has narrowed down to a battle between Bahir Dar City and Saint George, and the top position is at stake after crucial fixtures on Sunday.

Bahir Dar City has been the in-form team, performing well in their recent matches while registering eight wins and four draws on their last 12 encounters.

They are only two points behind league leaders St George. If Bahir Dar City get three points in this fixture, they could top the table depending on the outcome of the St George fixture against Wollaita Dicha.

Hadiya Hosaena have not won in their last four fixtures, securing three draws and a defeat. They do have the best defensive record in the league as they have conceded the least number of goals, only 15.

However, they will go into the match without their main defenders Henok Arfichu, Frezer Kassa and Birhanu Bekele. In addition to these players, forward Baye Gezahegn will be unavailable due to suspension.

There are no injury or suspension concerns for Bahir Dar City, who won their first-round fixture against Hadiya Hosaena 2-0.

ST GEORGE TAKE ON WOLAITTA DICHA

The other highly-anticipated fixture of the day sees the Horsemen face the Tona Bees.

St George, who had a much wider lead, have been hampered by their inability to win in their last two matches at Hawassa University Stadium, a defeat by Mekelakeya coming on the heels of a draw against Hawassa City.

These results contributed to the narrowing of the gap between them and their challengers, Bahir Dar City to just two points.

Zerihun Shengeta's team desperately need more goals from Ismail Ouro-Agoro, the leading scorer in the league thus far with 22 goals.

Wollaita Dicha have the third-best defence in the league, and this may be a bad stat for St George, but if it's any consolation, St George won the reverse fixture 2-0 in the first round.

It will be an interesting battle between Ouro-Agoro and the Wolaitta Dicha defenders.

Wolaitta Dicha are currently in ninth position with 32 points and have been unbeaten in their last four league matches.

Anteneh Gugsa will be the only absentee for Wollaita Dicha. Gatoch Panom, Suleiman Hamid and Megnot Debebe are back to training but it isn't confirmed whether they are ready for action or not.
