Paarl Royals win toss and bowl against MICT
Paarl Royals captain David Miller won the toss and chose to bowl first in their SA20 match against Cape rivals MI Cape Town at Boland Park in Paarl on Wednesday evening.
The fixture is a ‘rematch’ of the derby on Monday which MI Cape Town won by 33 runs at Newlands but conditions are expected to be very different at the Royals’ home where stroke-making is always awkward on a slow pitch conducive to spin.
Sri Lanka left-arm spinner Dunith Wellalage and allrounder Andile Phehlukwayo make their first appearances for the home side while Connor Esterhuizen takes the place of Ryan Rickelton, who is unwell, for the visitors.
