Boots voucher reward welcomed by Diski Challenge players

Chippa United's promising striker Thulani Mini has shared an anecdote of how he borrowed a football boot from a teammate to play in the DStv Diski Challenge.
This past weekend, the Diski Challenge's new season started with a festival held at Giant Stadium in Soshanguve.
The Chilli Boys played the opening match of the season where they defeated Black Leopards 3-1. Mini was voted the man of the match after an impressive game, helping his side collect maximum points.

Mini was rewarded with a cool R2 000 boots voucher which is the new prize for the man of the match.
Incidentally, the reward went to the player who really needed it as Mini was playing with borrowed boots on the day.He was the first recipient of the new boots voucher DStv Diski Challenge man of the match award.
Talking to us, Mini revealed: “This voucher came in handy. I really needed it. On Saturday I had to borrow boots for the match from my teammate who was not on the matchday squad. Mine were no longer in good condition for an official match.”
The player who is on his second season in the Diski Challenge has wasted no time, going to the shops to get himself a new pair of boots for the weekend.
Mini has praised the initiative of giving boots vouchers, saying it will also motivate a lot of players.
“As young players, we come from different backgrounds, others struggle to get proper boots. I believe this will go a long way in assisting.
“I have bought mine. I am ready for the weekend. And I believe this will also boost my confidence and motivate my peers in the league."
The KwaZakhele born player has vowed to make his mark this season in the Diski Challenge and is confident that his side will be among the top teams in the league.
He vowed: “Last season we were new, most of us in the team, but now I believe we understand each other and if we can work hard, we can be among top teams at the end of the season.”
Chippa coach Siyabulela Gwambi echoed the same sentiments, stating that this will go a long way in helping the youngsters.
