Trent Alexander-Arnold returned to Liverpool’s starting line-up for their Champions League quarterfinal first leg against Benfica on Tuesday.

Alexander-Arnold shook off a hamstring injury in time to play in Lisbon while Luis Diaz was handed his first Champions League start for Liverpool up front.

In midfield, Jordan Henderson dropped out, with Jurgen Klopp perhaps keeping one eye on Liverpool’s Premier League showdown with Manchester City on Sunday.

For Benfica, Adel Taarabt recovered in time to take his place in midfield while former Premier League defenders Jan Vertonghen and Nicolas Otamendi were both picked at the back.
