Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi is expecting nothing less than a win when his charges go up against Chippa United in the Betway Premiership at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Sunday evening.

Kick-off is at 17:45 CAT (SA, GMT+2)

CURRENT FORM

Chiefs has won only one of their last five league matches, which came against Richards Bay back in November.

Since then, the team has struggled to pick up all three points in a match, settling for a number of draws in the process.

Amakhosi is the only team in the Betway Premiership that hasn’t secured a clean sheet yet this season, they have conceded at least one goal in every game.

Sixth-placed Chippa has won one of their last three league matches, which was a victory that came over newly-promoted Magesi.

The Chilli Boys’ last league match saw them lose 1-0 to Cape Town City on home ground.

WHAT WAS SAID

The position that Kaizer Chiefs find themselves in is definitely less than desirable, and coach Nasreddine Nabi believes that they can turn things around.

“I want Chiefs supporters and management to be happy by us collecting more points. To collect more points, we need consistent performances in our games,” Nabi said ahead of the match.

Chippa United coach Kwanele Kopo is approaching the game with confidence and thinks Chiefs’ weaknesses could give his team an edge.

“We need to play well and get a result against Chiefs, but it’s more important for us to get results against everybody else in the league because those are our closest competitors,” Kopo said.

“It’s a big club, and they are behind us on the log for the first time in many, many years. Are Chiefs beatable? I think yes, they are. Anybody in the league is beatable this season.”

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Ashley du Preez, Kaizer Chiefs - Having scored two goals in his last four matches, the forward will be eager to improve his tally. Speaking before the match, du Preez acknowledged that composure is what he needs to be clinical in front of goal.

Sinoxolo Kwayiba, Chippa United - The attacking midfielder has scored two goals in the Betway Premiership thus far. Having scored in this fixture last season, Kwayiba will take another opportunity to score against Amakhosi again with both hands.
