There is all to play for on day four of Goldrush Boland's CSA 4-Day Series contest against the Knights at Boland Park.

The hosts were on 14 for one at stumps on the third day of the encounter.

Boland need 278 runs to win. They have nine wickets in hand. Boland and the Knights both recorded first-innings scores of 266. The Knights went on to score 291 in their second innings.

At stumps, they had Grant Roelofsen (8*) and Gavin Kaplan (4*) at the crease.

The pair got together after Pieter Malan's dismissal three overs into their fourth innings. Malan was dismissed by Johan van Dyk, who had one wicket for seven runs in three overs.

Boland were out of the contest for the bulk of day three.

The Knights' top-order had done a good enough job to lay a solid platform with scores in the 20s and 30s, which provided Dian Forrester with a platform to play his natural game.

The 24-year-old played with positive intent from the moment he arrived at the crease. He scored 71 runs from 99 deliveries.

This is the fourth first-class half-century for the Limpopo-born batter. He faced 66 deliveries to chalk the milestone. Forrester, who has a single first-class ton, has to wait a little longer for a century in Division One.

However, the home side staged a fightback late in the day. The visitors bagged seven wickets in the post-tea session. Keith Dudgeon provided the breakthrough with the dismissal of Dian Forrester.

Shaun von Berg capitalised on the pressure created by Forrester's wicket. Gihahn Cloete was one of the two bowlers he dismissed in the session as the hosts staged a comeback.

His other wicket was the Knights' hero from day one, Aaron Phangiso, who failed to replicate his brilliance. Siyabonga Mahima also bagged a brace, accounting for Ruan Cronje and Sithembile Langa, while Johan van Dyk and Aviwe Mgijima dismissed Malusi Siboto and Patrick Botha.

Von Berg was Boland's most successful bowler in the innings with three wickets for 79 runs in 23 overs. Mahima and Dudgeon bagged a brace of wickets each and Mgijima took a solitary wicket.
