World Sports Betting Western Province Women has turned the focus to the new campaign as they try to build a winning successful team.

Following their successful season, having won the CSA T20 Challenge and finishing in third place in the 50 Overs, Claire Terblanche's charges will be eager to pick up where they left off for the new season.

To make that a dream come true and possibility for the ladies team, Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) has announced the contracted Senior Women Squad ahead of the 2024/25 season.

The squad boasts a great number of retained players and is proud and excited to announce the new additions of former Proteas Women captain Dane van Niekerk, South Africa Women's U-19 captain Oluhle Siyo and Rifqah Esau who made her debuts against Fidelity Titans Ladies towards the end of last season. Marizanne Kapp as a National Contracted player has also jointed the family.

Clinton du Preez, WPCA Cricket Services Manager commented: “We are very excited with our retention plan and with the new additions to our squad, there has been a strategic approach to address areas within the squad”.

“The experience and versatile quality of Dane together with the potential of allrounder Oluhle brings depth and strength to our squad who has been so successful over the past seasons”.

“Rifqah is a product of successful identification and development within our cricketing hubs and focus school programs, she has grown into a prospect to claim her place within the senior space and to dominate with ball in hand”.

“Jemma Botha our prolific young cricketer has made her mark and has been rewarded with a high-performance contract with a clear intention to further invest in her, this together with retaining Babette de Leede as an international cricketer, gives us great excitement for the upcoming season”.

Corrie van Zyl, WPCA CEO commented: “The WSB WP squad is a very well-balanced squad with a good mixture of experience and youth. The addition of Dane, who’s international experience and leadership qualities will certainly have a meaningful impact on the team and the development of our young talent within the squad.
