Kruger United extended their winning streak in the Motsepe Foundation Championship on matchday 22 as their title rivals, Durban City, dropped points.

Goals from Bright Ndlovu and Thulani Ndlela inspired Kruger to a 2-0 win over Upington City on Saturday and the win elevated the Mpumalanga side to the second spot, having made it four successive wins.

Kruger are six points behind log leaders, Durban City, who registered a second consecutive draw when they drew 0-0 with a relegation-threatened Leruma United side on Saturday.

However, promotion hopefuls, Orbit College and JDR Stars failed to capitalise on Durban City's slip-up. JDR Stars succumbed to a surprise 3-0 defeat to a relegation-threatened Venda FC side on Saturday.

On Sunday, Orbit had to fight back to hold a struggling University of Pretoria side to a 1-1 draw as Siyabulela Mabele cancelled out Samuel Julies' opening goal.

The action started on Friday as Cape Town Spurs eased their relegation concerns when they claimed a 2-0 win over Baroka FC courtesy of Therlo Moosa's brace.
