The Grandstand channel, launched with the revamp of SuperSport's channel reshuffle recently, is designed to bring you the best of the live sporting action throughout the day.

With the focus primarily on sports you'll find on the DStv Premium package, and not the football channels that sit right next to it, you can see the pick of rugby, cricket, golf, motorsport, tennis and more as the day's sporting offering unfolds.

The same action will also take place on each sport's dedicated home, so to watch more of the build-up or post-event proceedings, jump on to the other channel as Grandstand will always try and focus on the live action.

Here's what you'll be able to see on Grandstand this weekend, 7-8 November, including a Saturday when, from 3am through to midnight, the only break from LIVE action is 30 mins from 10:05am to 10:35am! #FillYourBoots . . .

AUSTRALIA v NEW ZEALAND - Tri-Nations
Grandstand, 10:35am CAT

Australia has a lot of face saving to do when they host New Zealand in a Tri-Nations clash on Saturday morning after suffering a record 38-point loss to these same All Blacks last weekend.

SUPERSPORT SHOOTOUT - Day 1
Grandstand, from 1pm CAT

The skills of Team BCX and Team SuperSport, comprising an invitational field of top government officials, high-profile corporate executives and legendary South African sportsmen, will be pitted against each other in a Ryder Cup style format at the signature Jack Nicklaus designed Pearl Valley Golf Course.

------------------------------------------------

BULLS v LIONS - Super Rugby Unlocked
Grandstand, 6:55pm CAT

The Bulls are sitting pretty on top the Vodacom Super Rugby Unlocked table but the Lions will do everything they can to knock their neighbours off that perch when the two teams meet in the Jukskei derby on Saturday.

The other games this weekend are Sharks v Cheetahs (Fri, 7pm) and Griquas v Stormers (Sat, 4:30pm).

SATURDAY'S FOOTBALL PICKS

These aren't on Grandstand, but here's the pick of the footy matches:

Bloem Celtic v SuperSport United, MTN8 semifinal - 3pm, SS PSL
Bloemfontein Celtic will go into their MTN8 semifinal second leg against SuperSport United with the advantage of an away goal after the two teams played to one-all draw in the first leg. In Wafa Wafa spirit this match there will be no holding back, it's all or nothing, and Matsantsantsa will look to throw the kitchen sink at it. Siwelele know very well that Bradley Grobler and Thamsanqa Gabuza pose to their defence.

Everton v Manchester United - 2:30pm, SS Premier League
Everton will host Manchester United in a battle of wounded lions on Saturday. The Toffees, who started the season like a house on fire, suffered a 2-1 defeat against Newcastle while United lost at home to Arsenal for the first time in 14 years.

------------------------------------------------

SANTOS v TEIXEIRA - UFC
Grandstand, main card from 00am CAT

An all-Brazilian battle between Thiago Santos and Glover Teixeira headlines the UFC Fight Night at the APEX facility in Las Vegas. Santos has been out of action for over a year after a brutal, injury-ravaged loss to Jon Jones last July while Teixeira enters the fight off the back of a four-match winning streak.

With Jones vacating the title earlier this year, there is a potential place in a light heavyweight championship match up for grabs for the winner of this bout.

------------------------------------------------

SUPERSPORT SHOOTOUT - Day 2
Grandstand, from 11:15am CAT

Who will emerge victorious between Team BCX and Team SuperSport as the Ryder Cup style team event comes to the boil at the signature Jack Nicklaus designed Pearl Valley Golf Course? In addition to the team event, glory in the traditional Individual and Betterball competitions will be up for grabs.

------------------------------------------------

EUROPEAN GP - MotoGP
Grandstand, 2:55pm CAT

Everything is still on the line as MotoGP heads to the Citcuit Ricardo Tormo for the European MotoGP. Just 14 points separate championship-leader Joan Mir and second-placed Fabio Quartararo with just three races left in the 2020 season. However, the unpredictable nature of the season so far suggests that the likes of Maverick Vinales, Franco Morbidelli and Andrea Dovizioso are all still in with a shot of winning the title and victory in Spain will go a long way to keeping their title hopes alive.

------------------------------------------------

PARIS MASTERS - ATP
Grandstand, 4:30pm CAT

Without Novak Djokovic in attendance, Rafael Nadal will be hoping to draw back level with the world No 1 on 36 Masters Series tournament wins. In his way though stand the likes of Stan Wawrinka, Kevin Anderson and Alexander Zverev as well as last week's tournament winners John Millman and Andrey Rublev, who are all capable of causing an upset.

------------------------------------------------

SUNDAY'S FOOTBALL PICKS

These aren't on Grandstand, but here's the pick of the footy matches:

Orlando Pirates v Kaizer Chiefs, MTN8 semifinal - 3pm, SS PSL
On paper it looks over - done, dusted and decided - but the game is played on the field not on paper, and any lapse of concentration could prove detrimental for Orlando Pirates. The Buccaneers lead 3-0 going to the MTN8 second leg against rivals Kaizer Chiefs. Pirates will be without their head coach Josef Zinnbauer, who travelled back home in Germany due to a family emergency, while Chiefs will go into this one with nothing to lose so expect coach Gavin Hunt to go all out attack . . .

Manchester City v Liverpool - 6:30pm, SS Premier League
Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola will renew their rivalry this Sunday when Manchester City host Liverpool in what could be a telling match for City’s season. Guardiola’s charges have had a wobbly start to their season and beating the defending champions could be the boost they need to change their fortunes. Liverpool are without their defensive talisman Virgil van Dijk, who faces a long period on the sidelines due to an injury sustained in the Merseyside derby
