FUS Rabat beat Cape Town Tigers, face Atletico Luanda

Basketball Africa League debutants FUS Rabat of Morocco take on Club Athletico Luanda on Thursday, March 14 at 7pm CAT after beating home team Cape Town Tigers 84-58 on Tuesday.

Aliou Diarra led FUS with 21 points and six rebounds, while Samkelo Cele scored a team-high 22 points for the Cape Town Tigers.

Fans at the arena were treated to a halftime performance by award-winning Amapiano artist Young Stunna, with other entertainment acts including acrobatic dunkers, traditional drummers, and dancers.

Earlier in the day, BAL ambassador and 2011 NBA champion Ian Mahinmi and NBA Academy Africa Associate Technical Director Joe Touomou held a BAL coaches clinic for local basketball coaches.

The 2024 Basketball Africa League’s (BAL) Kalahari Conference group phase continues on Thursday night at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria, South Africa.

The basketball action on Thursday will include a pre-game performance and halftime show by South African music artists MJ and Nadia Nakai.

There will be further games on Saturday, March 16 with Cape Town City up against Club Atletico Petroleos de Luanda of Angola.

The Kalahari conference will wrap up on Sunday with a re-match between Cape Town Tigers and FUS Rabat.
