Canadian swimming star Summer McIntosh powered to her second gold medal of the world short course championships in Budapest on Thursday with a world record in the women's 200m butterfly.

The 18-year-old won three Olympic titles in Paris earlier this year, in the 200m butterfly, 200m medley and 400m medley.

She added her second gold of the week after also winning the 400m freestyle on Tuesday by winning in 1min 59.32secs, beating American Regan Smith by 1.68secs.

"I wouldn't say I train a lot in the butterfly," McIntosh said. "But I have a great ability to concentrate."

Australia's Elizabeth Dekkers took the bronze.
