WRAP: Spurs relegation confirmed, Chiefs held by Usuthu
Cape Town Spurs’ relegation from the DStv Premiership was confirmed on Saturday evening, as Richards Bay stunned Orlando Pirates by beating the Soweto team 1-0 at the Orlando Stadium.
While Kaizer Chiefs hoped to pick up a win at the Moses Mabhida Stadium to hold onto eighth place with more security, the team was held to a 1-1 draw against AmaZulu, with Usuthu coming from behind in the first half to ensure a share of the spoils.

It was a weekend of upsets, as Moroka Swallows brought an end to Stellenbosch’s 20 match unbeaten run, defeating them 2-0 at the Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday.
This result leaves the race for second-place with Pirates still open, with the Bucs still a point behind Stellies.
SuperSport United played to a goalless draw against Cape Town Spurs on Friday evening, which might’ve given fans a bit of hope but Richards Bay’s shock win meant that it was not enough for Ernst Middendorp’s team to avoid automatic relegation.
On Sunday, along with Kaizer Chiefs’ result, Cape Town City and TS Galaxy shared the spoils with a 1-1 draw at the DHL Stadium.
It was the same story with Golden Arrows and Chippa United, who also shared the points with the same result.
