CF Montreal announced the signing of forward Prince Owusu to a two-year contract on Monday.

The deal includes an option year for 2027 for the 28-year-old German international.

Montreal traded up to $250 000 in general allocation money to Toronto FC to obtain the right of first refusal.

Owusu scored nine goals in 37 MLS matches (23 starts) with Toronto during the 2023-24 seasons.

"We are very excited to welcome Prince to the Club," said CF Montreal president and CEO Gabriel Gervais.

"With his addition, we are strengthening our squad with a powerful striker, recognised for his physical attributes, ability to protect the ball, willingness to press defenders, and consistent offensive production. Prince brings a wealth of leadership and experience gained in Europe and MLS."

Toronto will receive $100 000 in GAM in 2025 and $75 000 in 2026, plus $75 000 in conditional GAM.
