ZESCO United’s championship credentials will face a test when they travel to Forest Rangers in their latest MTN Super League clash on Saturday.

ZESCO hold a four point lead at the top of the table in the early running, having won six of their eight games (D1 L10) to date.

Rangers are a tough prospect in their own back yard though and no team has scored more than their 12 goals so far this campaign. But conversely, only bottom side Indeni have conceded more than their 10 goals.

In fact, no team comes anywhere close to the 22 goals at either end that Rangers have had in their games, which makes them an exciting watch.

Rangers have won only one of their previous 15 league home games (D5 L9) against ZESCO though, which came all the way back in 2007.

Surprise package Mutondo Stars will want to maintain their momentum that sees them in second place when they go to Zanaco.

Stars have won their last four games in a row and come up against a Zanaco side that are winless in seven (D4 L3), and currently sit in the relegation zone.

Kabwe Warriors are the last remaining unbeaten side in the Super League having won three and drawn for of their opening seven matches, and will test themselves against Power Dynamos on Sunday, a game that pits fourth against third.

The last six meetings between the sides have seen two wins each and two draws, so it has been pretty much honours even.

Green Buffaloes will look to get back to winning ways after some stutters in recent weeks when they host second-bottom Lumwana Radiants. The latter have a single Super League win in 15 games (D8 L6) dating back to March.

Champions Red Arrows are eight points behind ZESCO but do have a game in hand. They need to start picking up wins though or they face being cut adrift and host mid-table Nkwazi FC. The latter broke a run of five successive draws when they won 2-1 at home to Mufulira Wanderers last time out. Arrows have won five of the last six meetings (D1).

Bottom side Indeni will hope for a first win of the season when they welcome NAPSA Stars, while FC MUZA host Atletico Lusaka and Green Eagles go to Nchanga Rangers.
