Ryder Cup opening ceremony moved to Wednesday

The opening ceremony for the 45th Ryder Cup has been moved from Thursday to Wednesday due to inclement weather forecast for Thursday at Bethpage Black, organisers announced on Tuesday.
Ticket holders for Thursday will be admitted the the course for both days. The ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. local time (2000 GMT) on Wednesday.
United States captain Keegan Bradley and Europe captain Luke Donald will announce the pairings for Friday morning's foursomes (alternate shot) matches as planned at 4 p.m. Thursday at a site to be determined, the PGA of America said.

Rain and thunder are expected on Thursday with cloudy to partly cloudy skies on Friday through Sunday for competition with a 20 per cent rain chance on those days.
