The Auto Investment North West Dragons won the toss and elected to bowl first in their CSA T20 Challenge match against World Sports Betting Western Province at the DP World Wanderers on Wednesday.

The winner will go through to play against the Multiply Titans in the qualifier on Friday.

The winner of that tie will compete in the final against the DP World Lions on Sunday.

The last time Western Province played at the Wanderers, they walked away with a victory.

Their bowlers put in a good shift and restricted the Lions to 145-7.

Eddie Moore then scored an unbeaten brilliant 67-ball 87 to shepherd his side home.

The victory put a halt to a losing streak that had stretched to two matches. It was also the first of back-to-back victories that lifted them into the top four.

Buoyed by their victory against the Lions, Western Province breezed to a win over the Itec Knights at home.

In that match, Daniel Smith scored a match-winning half-century.

Salieg Nackerdien will be hopeful that his side can ride the wave of the uptick in results all the way to the final.

Their opponents, the Dragons, do not have happy memories from their last outing at the Wanderers.

Craig Alexander's side suffered a five-run loss to a resurgent Lions side, despite Ludwich Schuld's valiant half-century.

The loss relegated the Dragons to third place, after spending some time in second place and briefly leading the table at one point.

The loss to the Lions was their second in three games.

They have a no-result sandwiched between the losses.

Alexander will be hoping that his men can get back into step, put a stop to the negative results and earn a spot in the qualifier, pencilled in for the 25th, for a shot at the final.
