Wirtz sends Spain v Germany Euros quarterfinal into extra time

Florian Wirtz drilled in a late equaliser to rescue Euro 2024 hosts Germany and send their quarterfinal against Spain into extra time after a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes on Friday.

Dani Olmo's strike early in the second half had Spain poised to tee up a last-four meeting with either France or Portugal, but Germany piled on the pressure and substitute Wirtz fired home in the 89th minute.
