Chippa United collected all three points in the Betway Premiership by beating Richards Bay 1-0 on Saturday evening at the Buffalo City Municipality Stadium.

The Eastern Cape outfit looked bright from the start and immediately caused problems for the Natal Rich Boyz defence.

The Chilli Boys dominated possession throughout the first half and made the breakthrough towards the end of the first half.

As Bienvenu Eva Nga was through on goal, the striker hit the target but the ball deflected off Thabiso Kutumela and was ruled an own goal. The hosts went into the break ahead and looked to build on it in the second stanza.

The remainder of the match followed the same trend and Andile Jali had an eye-catching performance once again after a stunning performance in the team’s last league match.

As it stands, Chippa now occupy seventh position on the log, and have seemingly bounced back from losing their opening fixture against Orlando Pirates.
