In a quest to finally collect points in the Betway Premiership, AmaZulu will travel to face Marumo Gallants at the Toyota Stadium on Saturday evening.

Kick-off is at 08:00 pm CAT (SA, GMT+2).

CURRENT FORM

Marumo Gallants have lost their first three games in the league to Kaizer Chiefs, Golden Arrows and Mamelodi Sundowns respectively. The team is currently in 16th position on the log, with their opponents just one place above.

As for AmaZulu, they also lost their first two opening games to Polokwane City and Kaizer Chiefs. It’s a negative start for the KZN club, whose President made it clear that he is expecting qualification for CAF competitions by the end of the season.

WHAT WAS SAID

Despite the fact that AmaZulu has had a rough start to the season, coach Pablo Franco Martin is optimistic that better times are still to come.

“In the 15 months I have been here, I can say this is the best 45 minutes we have ever played against such a great team,” he said about the loss against Chiefs.

“We conceded two or three counterattacks which was normal knowing that this is one of their strengths and they played trying to take advantage of that the whole game.”

With losing three straight games in the Betway Premiership, Marumo Gallants coach Dan Malesela says there's no reason to panic since they'll soon turn things around.

“We played here [Sundowns], we got chances and we didn't score. On the other side, we have conceded four and the last one was just a nightmare ... we need to stop this thing of conceding goals,” he stated.

“Having said that, I'm very encouraged and optimistic that in no time we will be moving away from where we are.”

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Riaan Hanamub, AmaZulu - The full-back produced dangerous crosses that caused trouble for the opposition in the team’s last match, and will be hoping to deliver the same performance to get the team away from the bottom of the league standings.

Gabadinho Mhango, Marumo Gallants - The forward has already opened his account this season and his team will surely look to him to provide the goals that could help get them over the line in this encounter.
