Wolkite City shock Adama, Shashemene sign off with win

Wolkite City who survived relegation by the skin of their teeth, produced a shock win over Adama City, 1-0

It was a fitting end to a turbulent season for Wolkite but even more for Shashemene City who beat fellow relegated team, Hambericho Durame by 3-1.

Adama City and Wolkite City gave their game a good go, ending goalless at halftime, and all the way to the 70th minute.

Wolkite's lone goal arrived on 73 minutes through Adane Belayneh, and it was enough to earn them all three points.

It was a harvest of goals for Shashemene City who raced to a 3-0 first half lead, something they failed to produce all season.

The first arrived in the 19th minute via Surafel Muluwork who gave them a 1-0 lead.

Sintayehu Mengistu made it (2-0 in the 37th minute and completed his brace in the 44th minute for 3-0.

Hambericho pulled one back on 90+5 minutes with the last kick of the game, Birhanu Ashamo with the goal for 3-1but it was too little, too late.
