Cape Town City is set to take on AmaZulu in the Betway Premiership at the DHL Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Kick-off is at 15:30 CAT (SA, GMT+2)

CURRENT FORM

The Citizens have had mixed results in the league lately, winning two out of their last five matches. Their most recent result was a 1-0 victory over Chippa United.

However before the win against the Chilli Boys, Eric Tinkler’s men lost two matches in a row to Golden Arrows and Sekhukhune United respectively.

Now placed 10th in the Betway Premiership standings, it’s an opportunity for the Mother City to break into the top eight.

As for AmaZulu, the team has also had mixed results as they continue rebuilding their confidence. Their previous match saw them concede last minute to a 10-man Mamelodi Sundowns, much to their disappointment.

WHAT WAS SAID

AmaZulu co-coach Vusimuzi Vilakazi admits that they need to bolster their striking department after scoring two goals in their last three games.

“Obviously, it is a worrying factor as you’re saying we are still looking for a striker because even in our next game Ighodaro will be available but we can’t rely on one person,” says Vilakazi.

“Maybe Junior [Dion] is having a rough time, he will bounce back. We will try as coaches to help him to bounce back and see what is going to happen.”

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Kayden Francis, Cape Town City - The 21-year-old midfielder scored in City’s previous league match against Chippa United and he’ll be hoping to be on target once again in this clash.

Hendrick Ekstein, AmaZulu - The attacking midfielder has flourished under the guidance of new head coaches Arthur Zwane and Vusimuzi Vilakazi. Having scored three goals in the league, Ekstein will be keen to potentially add to his tally against the Citizens.
