The first leg of Stellenbosch’s quarterfinal tie in the African Confederation Cup against holders Zamalek has been confirmed for the Cape Town stadium on Wednesday, 2 April.

There has been some uncertainty over the venue but the match will go ahead in Cape Town after Stellenbosch were forced to move other home games in the competition to Durban and Pretoria.

They also had to play this month’s Nedbank Cup quarterfinal against Kaizer Chiefs at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha.

Stellenbosch’s own Danie Craven Stadium has been deemed not up to international standard by CAF, as is also the case with the Athlone Stadium.

Stellenbosch host the game at 3pm, with live coverage on SuperSport, and the return game in Cairo one week later.

South Africa’s two Champions League representatives will start their quarterfinal ties on Tuesday, 1 April.

Mamelodi Sundowns will host Tunisia’s Esperance at Loftus Versfeld in the first leg of their tie, also with a 3pm kick-off.

Esperance undid Sundowns last year in the semifinal stage of the continent’s top club competition.

The return leg is in Tunis at Rades on 8 April.

Mouloudia Alger welcome Orlando Pirates in Algiers on 1 April with the return leg on Wednesday, 9 April at the Orlando Stadium (6pm kick-off).
