Chippa United will be hoping to consolidate their Betway Premiership top-eight spot with a win over SuperSport United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Tuesday.

Kick-off is at 7:30 pm CAT.

CURRENT FORM

The Chilli Boys succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to AmaZulu FC away on 29 October in a league clash and it was their second defeat in their last three matches, while the other game ended in a win.

Chippa are occupying the sixth spot in the Betway Premiership standings with 10 points from seven matches - a win over SuperSport would see the Eastern Cape side climb up to third place if other results go their way.

SuperSport, on the other hand, drew 0-0 with Golden Arrows away on 30 November in a league encounter and they are unbeaten in their last two matches having recorded a draw and a win.

Matsatsantsa are placed seventh in the Betway Premiership standings with eight points from seven matches - a victory over Chippa would see the Tshwane giants move up to the fifth spot if other results go their way.

TEAM NEWS

Both teams have no suspension concerns, but SuperSport will be without Bradley Grobler and Grant Margeman who are both nursing long-term injuries.

WHAT WAS SAID?

Chippa United head coach Kwanele Kopo

“We applied high pressure — AmaZulu were not able to come out the same way they did in the first half and they could only catch us [on the] counter in the second half," Kopo said.

“With all the possession and with all the attacks we struggled in the final third to get a clear chance. “The quality of our crosses from the wide areas was poor the whole game.”

SuperSport United striker Samir Nurkovic

“The feeling is amazing, and I’m super excited to work again with one of the best coaches in South Africa,” Nurkovic said.

“Coach Gavin Hunt is known for his strong leadership and his ability to bring out the best in his players. This gives me a great opportunity to grow as a player and contribute significantly to the team’s overall success.”

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Bienvenu Eva Nga, Chippa United: The Chilli Boys will pin their hopes of defeating Matsatsantsa on their joint-top scorer who has found the back of the net twice in seven league games this season.

Tashreeq Morris, SuperSport United: The 30-year-old striker netted his first goal for Matsatsantsa in a victory over Kaizer Chiefs last month and he will be determined to inspire his side to a victory in Gqeberha.
