Aviwe Mgijima registered his fifth first-class century as Goldrush Boland piled on more runs on the second morning of their CSA 4-Day Series match against the Dafabet Warriors at Boland Park on Friday. Boland were on 410 for six at lunch.

The hosts, who won the toss and chose to bat first on day one, picked up from where they had left off the previous evening. They lost only two wickets in a morning where they dominated. Boland had Aviwe Mgijima (108*) and Keith Dudgeon (21*) at the crease at the interval.

The former WSB Western Province batter, Mgijima, kept a cool head as he navigated the morning session. The 36-year-old faced 93 deliveries to reach 50 runs on day one. He maintained the tempo he had gone about his business with as he faced 99 balls for the second 50. Mgijima faced a total of 172 deliveries to chalk his fifth first-class century.

Mgijima shared two minor partnerships with Michael Copeland and Shaun von Berg. His fifth-wicket stand with Copeland added 29 runs to the total, while his sixth-wicket partnership with Von Berg added 17. His unbroken 36-run seventh-wicket partnership with Keith Dudgeon saw the home side past the 400-run mark.

Only two bowlers took wickets for the Warriors in the morning session - Duanne Olivier and Jason Raubenheimer. Olivier claimed the scalp of Copeland and has two wickets for 74 runs in 23 overs in the match. Raubenheimer, playing in his fourth first-class game, got his second first-class wicket with the dismissal of Shaun von Berg. He has one wicket for 70 runs in 19 overs.
