Brady claims statement win over Edwards
Sean Brady claimed a statement win over Leon Edwards in the main event of UFC London at the O2 Arena on Saturday night to put himself forward as a welterweight title contender.

The American dominated the English home favourite and former division champion throughout the fight, landing numerous takedowns and controlling Edwards on the ground, before sealing the win with a guillotine choke in the fourth round.
“I knew this is a fight I could do that in, I can do it against anyone in the division,” said Brady.
“It’s pretty f****** cool to know that I’ll be ranked No 1 next week. Sorry to the UK fans for doing that to your boy.”
In the co-main event, Carlos Ulberg racked up an eighth successive win by claiming the scalp of former light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz, via unanimous decision, to put himself in the title picture.
“The longest winning streak in the light heavyweight division, so a title shot makes sense,” said Ulberg of what he believes is next for him.

The rest of the main card featured Nathaniel Wood defeating Morgan Charriere via unanimous decision in the featherweight division; Chris Duncan submitted fellow lightweight Jordan Vucenic with a guillotine choke; English favourite Molly McCann succumbed to a first-round submission against Alexia Thainara in a women’s flyweight fight; and Kevin Holland outpointed Gunnar Nelson for a unanimous decision victory in the welterweight category.
The UFC continues next week with UFC on ESPN: Moreno v Ecerg, which pits Brandon Moreno against Steve Erceg in a flyweight main event at Arena CDMX in Mexico City on the morning of Sunday 29 March 2025.
