Benoit Saint Denis – known as ‘BSD’ – will look for a home triumph when he faces Renato Moicano in the lightweight main event of a UFC Fight Night at the Accor Arena in Paris, France, on the evening of Saturday 28, September 2024.

Saint Denis (13-2, 1 NC) is looking to recover from a second-round knockout loss to Dustin Poirier in March of this year – a result which snapped a five-match winning streak for the 28-year-old Frenchman.

BSD is eager to get back in the Octagon and return to a winning path: “I want to climb the rankings and get at the top. I feel like I do belong there.

“In my last fight, I had a lot of stuff going on, but I’m more determined than ever to become the champion. I need to work a lot and I’m ready to do it. I’m on my way. I’m just waiting for the next opportunity.”

Moicano (19-5-1) has put together a three-match winning run, most recently finishing Jalin Turner in the second round in a fight back in April of this year.

'THIS IS BUSINESS"

The outspoken 35-year-old Brazilian believes he will walk through Saint Denis and go on to face rising lightweight star Paddy Pimblett.

“One thing’s for sure, I’m not f***ng losing to Benoit Saint Denis I’m telling you, and I’m beating Paddy Pimblett after that,” said Moicano.

He added: “This is a business: sometimes you win, but you don’t convince, so you have to go out there and make a statement. It’s about (taking advantage of) the opportunity the UFC gives you.

“I think the performance has to speak for itself,” he added. “You have to have a great performance, you have to talk and get the most of what the UFC offers you, and that’s what I’m trying to do. I will go over there, have a fun fight, make it fun, and finish him.”

The rest of the main card features William Gomis v Joanderson Brito in the featherweight division; Kevin Jousset faces nominal determinism’s Bryan Battle in the welterweight category; Nassourdine Imavov and Brendan Allen will have a high-class middleweight match; Morgan Charriere tackles Gabriel Miranda in the featherweight category; and a lightweight opener pits Fares Ziam against Matt Frevola.
