Rocks dominate the second day

Siyabonga Mahima registered his second First Class five-wicket haul as the GBets Rocks bowled out the Multiply Titans for 209 on the second day of their CSA 4-day Challenge match at Boland Park on Sunday.
The Rocks, who scored 268 in their first innings, added 30 runs late on day two to establish an 89-run lead with 10 wickets in hand.

Mahima took 5-59 runs in 18.5 overs. He also bowled the most maidens among the Rocks’ bowlers.
The left-arm spinner delivered six maiden overs and Glenton Stuurman was the next best with five.
Janneman Malan (11*) and Maahir Joseph (15*) were in the middle at stumps and will be looking to extend their lead on day three.
Dewald Brevis was the Titans’ bright spark with a well-crafted half-century.
When the 20-year-old arrived at the crease, the Titans were on 65 for two. He joined hands with Dean Elgar to mount a fightback, but their promising partnership was cut short by Hardus Viljoen in the 40th over.
Elgar was five runs short of his 69th First Class half-century when he was dismissed.
After Elgar’s dismissal, Brevis had short-lived partnerships with Sibonelo Makhanya and Donovan Ferreira before his 113-ball innings came to an end.
After Brevis’s dismissal, only Dayyaan Galiem made a meaningful contribution with a run-a-ball 36 that inched the visitors past the 200-run mark.
But it was not enough to draw them closer to the Rocks’ first-innings total.
Mahima’s effort with the ball was well-supported by Hardus Viljoen, who took 2-41 in 17 overs.
Glenton Stuurman, Akhona Mnyaka and Shaun von Berg took a wicket each.
