Cape Town City have confirmed their second signing in as many days with the capture of experienced midfielder Miguel Timm.

Timm arrives from Sekhukhune United to bolster City’s promotion push from the Motsepe Foundation Championship in the second half of the campaign.

It follows the signing of former TS Galaxy forward Dženan Zajmović, which was confirmed on Sunday.

Timm, 33, is a vastly experienced forward who has also featured for several other Premier Soccer League sides, including Orlando Pirates, BidVest Wits and Mpumalanga Black Aces, the franchise that was sold in 2016 to form City.

He also had a spell in the United States playing alongside Ivorian legend Didier Drogba at Phoenix Rising.

"I am turning 34, so this will be one of my last (playing) memories and I want to make it a good experience. We can all be heroes for the city if we put our minds together and work hard,” Timm said.

"That is why I did not hesitate to come, because of the potential to do something special."

Timm made 14 appearances for Sekhukhune in all competitions in the first half of the season, with five of those starts, but has been deemed surplus to requirements by coach Eric Tinkler, himself a former City tactician.

He also has two Bafana Bafana caps to his name in friendlies against Angola and Mozambique in 2022.

City made a slow start to the Motsepe Foundation Championship campaign, but having taken 13 points from the last 15 available, they go into the second half of the season well poised for a promotion push.

They are in fourth place, five points behind leaders Milford FC, and three points outside of the promotion play-off places.

Their next fixture is away to Gomora United on January 23.
