The first test of this year’s Castle Lager Incoming Series between the Springboks and Wales is heading for a sell-out, with only 4000 tickets left for the 50 000 capacity Loftus Versfeld stadium.

Bulls chief executive Edgar Rathbone confirmed this on Monday morning, with a significant uptake in ticket sales since the government lifted the restrictions on stadium capacity under COVID-19 tules.

The match will be the first match in front of fans locally for the Springboks since they won the Rugby World Cup in 2019. While the Boks have played in front of crowds in Australia and in Europe, they haven’t hosted a crowd for a local test because of the restrictions since the outbreak of the pandemic.

The remaining tickets are on sale at the Bulls ticketpro site (bulls.ticketpro.co.za) or at the Loftus Versfeld ticket office.

Wales will be looking for their first win ever on South African soil, and are likely to have a number of British and Irish Lions players in their ranks as they face the Boks.

The match will be broadcast live on SuperSport and kicks off at 5pm.
