Another massive weekend of world-class live sporting action is in store on SuperSport, Your World of Champions, with rivalries, challenges and titles on the line.

This weekend, Saturday 26 to 27 October 2024, fans can expect to witness some of the biggest global rivalries and highly anticipated matches across various leagues, in what is another Big Weekend of top-drawer live sporting action on SuperSport, Your World of Champions.

Headlining the action, is one of the biggest sporting rivalries of all time, the storied El Clasico between Spanish giants Real Madrid and FC Barcelona on Saturday. Los Blancos (Madrid) come into the clash as both Spanish and Uefa Champions League title-holders, something the Blaugrana (Barcelona) are also well familiar with in the past and are eager to reclaim from their fiercest rivals.

Barcelona are boosted by the return of Gavi following a year-long, injury-enforced absence. Both teams come into the game on the back of victories after Barça routed Sevilla 5-1 at home and Real Madrid saw off Celta Vigo 2-1 away.

The excitement for sports lovers doesn’t end there, as the Premier League showcases some of their title challengers when Arsenal host Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday. The heavyweight clash will either see Arne Slot’s Reds create daylight between themselves and Mikel Arteta’s Gunners or a resurgence from an Arsenal side that suffered a shock 2-0 loss at Bournemouth last time out, their first defeat in the league all season.

In local football, SuperSport United will seek vengeance on Saturday against Kaizer Chiefs in the Betway Premiership after Amakhosi ousted Matsatsantsa in the Carling Knockout Cup last weekend.

The Pretorians might be smarting from the loss but head coach Gavin Hunt was proud of his team’s last performance, which will provide a good foundation on which to build ahead of the rematch at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane come 17:30 kick-off.

Serie A presents a clash between traditional Italian giants clashing head-to-head when Inter Milan welcome Juventus, a content between second and third on the table, two teams that trail Napoli in the race for the Scudetto.

Reinforcing SuperSport’s reputation as Your World of Champions, this season’s CSA T20 Challenge champions will be crowned after an action-packed domestic T20 competition where stars were both and old heroes resurfaced.

In the premier global inter-continental club competition, the Vodacom United Rugby (URC) Championship, the Glasgow Warriors, the reigning champions coached by South African former Springbok Franco Smith, tackle the DHL Stormers, the two-time finalists and the first champions of the Vodacom URC era on Saturday.

The only two unbeaten teams in the Vodacom URC, Leinster and the Emirates Lions, face off in Dublin in what is expected to be a thrilling contest on the same day. With five wins in five for the Irishmen and four in four for the Joburgers, the top-of-the-table clash is poised to be one of the spectacles of the weekend.

In WWE, the dedicated 24-hour WWE Channel (DStv channel 128) will, from 27 to 31 October 2024, show Halloween-themed content, serving a stream of thrilling content from inside and outside the ring. Halloween Havoc headlines the weekend’s live events, with Trick Williams facing Ethan Page for the NXT Championship, Tony D’Angelo takes on Oba Femi for the North American Champions and the Women’s Tag Team match between Guilia and Stephanie Vaquer against Roxanne Perez and Cora Jane.
