The Du Preez brothers were pivotal in Sale Sharks' 39-0 hammering of Ulster in the Champions Cup on Sunday.

Springbok pivot Robert du Preez scored 14 points for the Sharks, including a try in the second half, as the English club got their Champions Cup campaign off to a superlative start against the Irish giants. Daniel du Preez also crossed the whitewash, while Jean-Luc made ten tackles for Sale.

At the other end of the park, Bok hardman Duane Vermeulen made nine tackles but was shown a yellow card in the second half after a cynical offense close to the Ulster tryline.

Former junior Springbok captain Hanro Liebenberg led from the front to take his Leicester Tigers to a 23-17 win over Ospreys, making ten carries, four tackles and a turnover.

Springbok prop Trevor Nyakane ran out for Racing 92 in their 42-10 defeat at the hands of indomitable Leinster, who featured Bok lock Jason Jenkins.

Over in the Challenge Cup, Springbok No 8 Uzair Cassiem played 62 minutes off the beck in a losing effort for Bayonnais, who were soundly defeated 39-7 by Scarlets.
