COMRADES MARATHON 2024: All you need to know

The 97th Comrades Marathon will be the 49th up run on Sunday, 9 June, starting at the Durban City Hall and ending at the HollywoodBets Scottsville Racecourse in Pietermaritzburg.

The race that will start at 05:30am and finishes 12 hours later, will cover a distance of 85.91 kilometres. Just like the previous years every second of the race will be broadcast on SuperSport with three channels for fans to enjoy.

THE ROAD AHEAD

A total of of 20 600 runners from different countries across the globe will descend to Pietermaritzburg to participate in the 97th edition of Africa’s richest and the world-famous Comrades Marathon, an ‘Up Run’.

Besides South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Russia, the UK, Zimbabwe, United States, Canada are well represented.

The Durban City Hall will host the start of the race which will conclude 12 hours later at HollywoodBets Scottsville Racecourse in Pietermaritzburg.

Comrades Marathon Association board has approved the adjustment to the final cut-off at the 79.1km mark at Mkondeni from 11h10 to 11h20, giving the backmarker runners an added advantage to finish this year’s 49th Comrades Up Run.
