ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW: the women's T20 World Cup 2024
The ninth edition of the tournament features 10 teams battling it out in 23 matches across two venues in United Arab Emirates.
We have compiled everything you need to know about the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup ahead of the tournament.
The Groups
Group A: Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka
Group B: Bangladesh, England, Scotland, South Africa, West Indies
Squads
All 10 teams have announced their playing groups for the tournament thus far.

Format
The 10 teams are split into two groups of five, with teams meeting each other once in a single round robin to decide the top two teams to progress to the semifinals.
The top-spot finisher in the group will meet the second-place finisher in the two semifinals, with the winners progressing to the final in Dubai.
Key Dates
After warm-up matches from 28 September to 1 October conclude, group action begins on 3 October. Group B foes Bangladesh and Scotland meet in the first of two matches on day one, with Pakistan and Sri Lanka facing off in the second.
With group play concluding on 15 October, attention turns to the semifinals across 17 and 18 October. The winners of semifinal one and two meet to battle for the T20 World Cup trophy on 20 October.
How to watch
Apart from a dedicated 24-hour channel on Premium (SS Cricket), selected matches will be broadcast on Grandstand, supplemented by 13-minute and 52-minute highlight packages for every match (available on Catch Up).
All fixtures will feature live build-ups from venues, with a review on all Proteas matches, plus the playoffs.
The focus will be primarily on Proteas matches and upcoming CWC fixtures.
SA focus
The Laura Wolvaardt-led Proteas open their campaign on 4 October against West Indies, with their final group match on 12 October when they face Bangladesh.

30-minute build-up featuring the live toss, captains’ interviews, pitch report and team/player features.
Change of innings interval programme, including a review of the first innings and a preview of the second. There will also be engaging feature content and analysis segments.
The wrap will include the captains’ chat, a brief round-up of the match and a look ahead to the next match, before ending with a match closer.
