FULL TIME: LIONS 44-21 GLASGOW
The Lions rip it away one last time and they get it off the park. The Lions were brave and brilliant in the second half after nearly self-destructing in the first 40. Glasgow leave Ellis Park with nothing. The Lions showed tremendous skill and guts and snatch five points to move into the playoff spots.
TRY, LIONS, SIRGEL, 44-21:
Sirgel punches through the hole to score the try.
The referee free kicks Glasgow for pulling out of the scrum and the Lions opt to pack down again and this time win the full penalty. Horn kicks deep into the Glasgow 22 where the Lions have the lineout.
The Warriors knock on in midfield and that might just confirm that they will leave Ellis Park as a defeated team. Glasgow can get a log point if they score another try.
PENALTY, LIONS, NOHAMBA, 39-21:
Nohamba slots the penalty after using almost all of the shot clock.
The Lions have a penalty straight in front, they cannot use the advantage and they call for the shot at goal.
Glasgow knock on in the their own 22 and the Lions have a chance to kill this game off now.
CONVERSION, GLASGOW, HORNE, 36-21:
Horne converts the score.
TRY, GLASGOW, MCKAY, 36-19:
McKay bursts over at last and the Warriors set up a big finish.
The Warriors attack with patience and earn advantage. They cannot use it and come back for the kick and set up a lineout in the Lions 22.
Botha gets over the ball as Glasgow come back at the Lions. He wins the Lions a penalty and they kick up towards halfway with the penalty. A 14-man Lions team are in control of this match now.
CONVERSION, LIONS, NOHAMBA, 36-14:
Nohamba slots the conversion.
TRY, LIONS, NOHAMBA, 34-14:
Nohamba gets up to get the intercept and they will not catch him! The Lions are in full roar! This is simply incredible!
The Lions knock on as they perhaps push their luck with the speculative passes. Glasgow have the scrum ten inside the Lions half.
CONVERSION, LIONS, NOHAMBA, 29-14:
Nohamba converts again and the Lions lead by 15.
TRY, LIONS, PRETORIUS, 27-14:
How on earth are they doing this! The Lions are in again from another counterattack. Nohamba goes up to gather the kick and slick hands finds the space and Pretorius goes over under the sticks.
CONVERSION, LIONS, NOHAMBA, 22-14: Nohamba converts the try from the corner and the Lions incredibly lead by eight.
TRY, LIONS, MAXWANE, 20-14:
Cronje pilfers the ball from the halfback at a ruck on the Lions 22 and they are away. Maxwane gets over to score again.
CONVERSION, LIONS, NOHAMBA, 15-14:
Nohamba converts the try.
TRY, LIONS, VAN DER MERWE, 13-14:
Van der Merwe goes coast to coast as the Lions steal it in their own 22 and he gets away with a chip and chase.
The Lions are robbed of a penalty under the Glasgow posts and the referee will not ask the TMO to check. Then Lions have a lineout on their own 22.
CONVERSION, GLASGOW, HORNE, 8-14:
Horne converts the try.
TRY, GLASGOW, FERRIE, 8-12:
Ferrie finally powers over for Glasgow.
The Lions get done for a tackle off the ball and Glasgow drive the Lions back into the corner.
The Lions hold on on the ground in attack and their chance to hurt the Warriors passes. They find a good touch and will set up an attacking lineout.
Glasgow turn it over in their own 22 but the kick clear isn't very long and the Lions have the lineout feed on the Warriors 22.
Glasgow restart deep and the Lions kick long but not out. Jordan knocks it ahead off the boot but too far and the Lions flyhack the ball back and Glasgow scramble it out. The Lions have the lineout in the Glasgow 22.
HALF TIME: LIONS 8-7 GLASGOW
The Lions hang on for now but will be playing with 13 for a good seven minutes to start the second half. Glasgow haven't made the most of their dominance and the numbers game. The Lions lead but are under the cosh.
The Lions hang on somehow and get the ball back close to halfway. Hendrikse chips but his kick bounces into touch.
YELLOW CARD, LIONS, HORN:
Horn gets yellow carded for sticking his hand out.
The Lions are penalised for a deliberate knock on and Horne could get a yellow for this as well.
Maxwane gets back to dot dead after the kick in behind the Lions defence. The Lions are under the pump now.
RED CARD, LIONS, VENTER:
Venter hits a player high and will get a red for that.
The conversion is missed from out wide and it stays a one point game.
TRY, LIONS, MAXWANE, 8-7:
The Lions are away from a set play around the outside. Maxwane is away and into the corner.
The Lions are playing suicidal rugby from inside their own in-goal and cough up a turnover. The Lions get penalised but Glasgow kick dead from the penalty and the Lions have a scrum. The Lions then win a penalty from the and Hendrikse finds touch in the Glasgow half.
Glasgow lose it in contact and the Lions have the scrum feed just beyond the ten in their own half.
The Lions do well to hold Rowe up over the line. The Lions will have the dropout from the goal-line.
Glasgow hold Venter up off the restart and they earn an attacking scrum on the Lions 22.
PENALTY, LIONS, HENDRIKSE, 3-7:
Hendrikse slots the penalty.
The Lions get another penalty and they will take the shot at goal.
The Lions get forward momentum at the scrum but they pop up and the referee wants to have it reset.
The Lions attack through the phases with patience but eventually win the penalty and they have to make a decision with the kick straight in front but Lombard's goalkicking in question. They opt to scrum.
Glasgow attack quickly but Maxwane gets in a huge hit and the Lions kick it clear. The Warriors put their kick out close to halfway.
The Lions pop up at the next scrum but again the referee wants to reset the scrum. Another poor call from the referee and we waste more time with another scrum.
The Lions knock on in attack after an energetic restart. The scrum goes down after Glasgow try to walk around the corner but the referee wants it reset. Poor refereeing.
CONVERSION, GLASGOW, JORDAN, 0-7:
Jordan converts.
YELLOW CARD, LIONS, VENTER:
Venter gets a yellow card for an off the ball shove.
TRY, GLASGOW, ROWE, 0-5:
Rowe is over to score but he might have been in front off the kicker.
The Lions win their lineout ball well and set the maul but they don't make much progress. The Lions attack off the back of the maul but lose the ball. They have the penalty but Lombard incredibly puts his kick wide from straight in front.
The Lions looks like they will reject the shot at goal from another penalty 40 metres out.
The Lions weather the storm and find a clearance at last.
Glasgow dominate the gainline and make progress into the Lions 22 before a grubber rolls into touch. The Lions boot it long but not out and the Warriors run it back at them.
Glasgow play quickly from the 22 and they soon earn advantage as the Lions don't roll away. They come back for the kick and Glasgow find touch on halfway.
Lombard pushes the penalty kick past the posts and the Lions waste that penalty kick.
The Lions start well as Glasgow knock on off the kick off. The referee calls advantage over just before Horn throws an intercept pass but the Lions get over the ball and win a penalty.
