Samson Ngoma scored the only goal of the game as ZESCO United got their MTN Super League campaign off to w winning start with a 1-0 victory over Nkana FC on Sunday.

ZESCO missed the opening few rounds as they competed in the CAF Confederation Cup, but having been dumped put by Zimbabwe’s Dynamos, sacked coach George Lwandamina, with assistant coach Emmanuel Siwale taking temporary charge, including for the fixture at Nkana.

The result means Nkana are still winless at the start of the campaign with two points from their three games.

FC MUZA claimed a first victory of the season as they defeated Indeni 3-1 thanks to goals from Biston Banda, Gift Simanansa and Francisco Kapilingo. Martin Phiri scored what proved to be a consolation for the visitors.

Perkins Mumba scored a late winner for Green Buffaloes as they won 2-1 at home to Zanaco, who looked as though they would earn a point.

Stephen Mutama put Buffaloes ahead, before Chawananga Kaonga equalised for ZANACO just before halftime. However, Mumba’s injury-time winner sealed the points.

Mutondo Stars and early-season leaders Nchanga Rangers played to a 1-1 draw. Maxwell Mulutula had Rangers in front, but an own goal from Sharpy Chikondi meant the points were shared.
