Leaders Red Arrows extended their lead at the top of the MTN Super League to six points following a narrow 1-0 away victory over Nkwazi on Saturday.

Paul Katema scored the only goal of the game on 36 minutes as Arrows opened up a wider gap at the top of the table, though they have played a game more than second-placed Zesco United, who are in action on Sunday at home to Kansanshi Dynamos.

Defending champions Power Dynamos fell further behind though as they were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Kabwe Warriors and are now seven points off the pace with nine rounds remaining in the season.

Nkana FC’s recent recovery was halted as they lost 1-0 at Napsa Stars, who leapfrog them on the table and push the former back into the relegation zone. Adams Zikiru scored the only goal 10 minutes into the second period.

FC Muza consolidated fourth place with their fourth successive win as Chipo Sondashi scored a brace in a 2-0 win at Mufulira Wanderers.

John Kosamu and George Ngoma were on target, to go with an own goal by Teddy Simfukwe, as Green Buffaloes romped to a 3-1 victory at Green Eagles. Aaron Musore scored a penalty for the latter.

Mutondo Stars made it back-to-back wins and moved two points clear of the relegation zone as they piled the misery on fellow strugglers Prison Leopards, while Konkola Blades and Zanaco played to a 0-0 draw.

Finally, Forest Rangers eased to a 3-1 win at bottom side Trident FC as Dieugo Apanane, Obed Masumbuko and Quadri Kola (penalty) all found the back of the net.

Trident had taken an early lead through Gilbert Tentani but were well beaten in the end.
