Lions hero of the week: Francke Horne
It may be a tad ironic that the moment the Emirates Lions’ season took a downturn was almost exactly the moment that Francke Horn was out for a few weeks with injury.
The young loose forward, who just returned to action this past weekend, was a catalyst in their early season victories and already had made a name for himself among Lions fans.
But his work-rate, the manner in which he links with the backline and the way he slots into the Lions attack - especially on the counter-attack has been the reason the Lions coaching staff were overjoyed when they heard he was available again.
And Horn was everywhere. On a day where the Lions counter-attack flourished and they feasted on turnovers, Horn was an important link, scored a try and made a welcome return to the field to inspire his team-mates.
He may not always get the credit for the work he does on the field, but when he is there, it is hard to ignore his influence on his team-mates.
And for that, and his try, he is our Lions’ star of the week
