The 17th Addis Ababa City Cup semifinalists have emerged following the last group games, with Ethiopia Coffee, St George, Hadiya Hossana and Commercial Bank of Ethiopia going through.

Ethiopia Coffee finished top of the group one table ahead of early pacesetters Hadiya Hossana as the group matches finished on Saturday.

Ethiopia Coffee beat Hadiya Hossana 1-0 through an own goal by defender Fikreab Tsegaye, who turned the ball into his own net.

The result took "the Coffees'" tally at the top of the group to seven points, leaving "the Tigers" second with six points.

In the other match of the group, Commercial Bank of Ethiopia defeated fellow BetKing Ethiopia Premier League newcomers Shashmene City 2-0.

In group 2, St George produced some great football and a goalscoring masterclass, beating Adama City 4-1 to progress to the semifinals behind Ethiopian Insurance, who topped the group.

Saint George, featuring the core of their next-generation stars, topped Yitagesu Endale's Adama City with an Aron Antor brace and further goals from Habtamu Gulelat and Henock Yohannes.

Nebik Nur scored the only goal for Adama City.

The semi-final matches will be played on Monday, with Ethiopian Insurance facing Hadiya Hossana.

The second semifinal is a mouthwatering Sheger Derby featuring Ethiopia Coffee against St George.
